You can’t be Indians – Cricketers slam fans celebrating Pakistan’s win in India

India and Pakistan played a perfect game of cricket in the ICC T20 World Cup. Despite India losing the match, there was no loss of love and respect between the players. Mohammad Rizwan was hugged by India skipper Virat Kohli after the opener played a match-winning innings against the Men in Blue.

MS Dhoni, who is with India as a mentor, was seen talking to Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Imad Wasim and other Pakistan cricketers after the match. Former India cricketers and fans took to social media to congratulate the Pakistan team on its exceptional performance. However, there were fans in India, who went on to burst crackers to celebrate Pakistan’s win over India.

This was uncalled for and was rightly slammed by Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag on social media.

“Those bursting crackers on Pak winning can’t be Indian! We stand by our boys! #Shameful,” wrote Gambhir.

“Firecrackers are banned during Diwali but yesterday in parts of India there were firecrackers to celebrate Pakistan‘s victory. Achha they must have been celebrating the victory of cricket. Toh , what’s the harm in fireworks on Diwali. Hypocrisy kyun ,Saara gyaan tab hi yaad aata hai,” wrote Sehwag.
