Whatever India will say will happen in cricket – Shahid Afridi
Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has claimed that India has the power to influence international cricket as it is the biggest market for the sport.
Afridi was talking about the Indian Premier League 2022 and the new two and a half month window. This will impact bilateral tours.
The former Pakistan star said that India is strong enough to have that kind of window for its T20 league. He said everything depends on the market and the economy. Afridi said India is the biggest market for cricket and whatever they will say will happen at the moment.
“It all depends on economy. India is the biggest market and whatever they will say will happen,” said Afridi.
The broadcasting rights for IPL was sold for more than 43,000 crore.
Disney Star retained the TV rights in the subcontinent for INR 23,575 crore while Viacom 18 secured the digital rights for the same area and broadcasting rights across three regions (Australia + New Zealand, South Africa and the UK) for INR 23,758 crore.
