Babar Azam became the first Pakistani batter to be dismissed in the T20 World Cup 2021 as New Zealand’s Tim Southee rattled his middle stump with a peach of a delivery in Sharjah. The Kiwi bowler also completed 100 wickets in T20Is, becoming the third bowler after Shakib al Hasan and Lasith Malinga.
The dismissal came on the first ball of the sixth over of Pakistan’s innings. Babar Azam was on 9 off 10 deliveries and Tim Southee bowled an off-cutter.
The right-handed batter tried to hit it over mid-wicket. The ball was full the batter missed it completely to hit the timber.

Earlier, Haris Rauf took four wickets to restrict the Kiwis to a below-par score. Pakistan bowlers were spot on with their line and length.
