Watch – Shakib’s brilliant throw ends Kane Williamson’s innings against KKR

Sunrisers Hyderabad scored just 115 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders. The team lost eights wickets in pursuit of a decent total but ended up with a below-par score. After opting to bat first, SRH lost their openers within 4 overs, with just 16 on the board.

Skipper Kane Williamson and Pryam Garg tried to anchor the innings but their partnership of 22 runs was broken when a direct hit from Shakib Al Hasan ended the innings of SRH captain. The incident took place in the 7th over when Williamson played a shot towards the on the side and set off for a single.

It turned out to be a mistake as Shakib picked the ball and hit the stumps at the bowler’s end, catching the SRH skipper short of the crease.

Williamson’s decision to bat first backfired as they lost wickets at regular intervals, failing to score runs off the bowling of Tim Southee and the spin duo of Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine.

Apart from Kane (26) and Abdul Samad (25), none of the batters tried to stay at the crease.
