Ruturaj Gaikwad was in exceptional form in the IPL 2021. The right-handed batter contributed to Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) fourth IPL title. After Chennai’s victory, he returned home and was given a grand welcome.
A lot of people gathered outside his home and was well-received as he stepped out of his car. The video of the same was shared by his IPL franchise.
Gaikwad scored 635 runs and was awarded the Orange Cap for finishing as the top scorer in the 14th edition. He scored four half-centuries and one century in 16 matches. Scoring runs at an average of 45.35 and a strike rate of 136.26, Gaikwad played his role of an opener to perfection.
“It is top of the moon feeling to win the orange cap and win the IPL. It is very very satisfying to win the IPL. It feels great. We didn’t have a great season. Coming here, everyone believed and we are here. When you are performing well, you are confident in your lesser risk shots. You need to make sure you are there till the end,” said Gaikwad after winning the Orange Cap on the final night.
