Watch – Babar Azam’s father breaks down after Pakistan’s sensational win against India
Fans in Pakistan passionately celebrated their team’s maiden victory over arch-rivals India in the ICC T20 World Cup. The Men in Green won the game by 10 wickets at Dubai International Stadium. Even Babar Azam’s father couldn’t control his tears as he was surrounded by fans who were congratulating him.
In a video shared by Pakistani journalist Mazher Arshad, Babar’s father, who was at the stadium, can be seen struggling to control his tears.
This is Babar Azam’s father. So happy for him. I first met him in 2012 at Adnan Akmal’s walima. Babar at that time was 3 years away from Pakistan debut. I clearly remember what his father told me “bas debut ho jane do. Agay sara maidaan babar ka hai” pic.twitter.com/ZlsvODQkSg

Earlier, Babar was spot on in every department of the game. He won the toss and asked Virat Kohli to bat, which turned out to be a sensible decision as Pakistan restricted India to 151/7 in 20 overs.
In response, Babar and Mohammad Rizwan scored valuable fifties to lead Pakistan to a famous win.
“We executed our plans well and the early wickets were very helpful,” Babar said. “We weren’t thinking of the record against India at all. I only wanted to back all our players who’ve been preparing well.”
While Babar scored an unbeaten 68, his opening partner Mohammad Rizwan hit 79 not out.
