Waqar Younis apologies for his communal remark after facing backlash
Harsha Bhogle, the famous sports presenter, was the first one to call out Waqar Younis for his communal remark. The former speedster made the statement following Pakistan’s victory over India.
Mohammad Rizwan was seeing offering namaz during India’s innings break, and the former Pakistan skipper made a controversial remark highlighting his prayer.
According to him, it was special for him to see a Muslim offering his prayer in front of Hindus.
After facing backlash on social media, he has apologised for his mistake. Waqar took to Twitter and wrote: “In the heat of the moment, I said something which I did not mean which has hurt the sentiments of many. I apologise for this, this was not intended at all, genuine mistake. Sports unites people regardless of race, colour or religion,” he wrote.
