Virat will become more dangerous batsman after leaving T20 captaincy – Wasim Akram

Former Pakistan skipper and one of the greatest bowlers of his time, Wasim Akram, has stated that Virat Kohli will become a more dangerous batter after leaving the T20 captaincy. The veteran was speaking to Aaj Tak in Dubai where he gave his opinion on Virat’s decision to quit captaincy after the ongoing global event in the UAE.

Earlier, Virat decided to leave the captaincy armband in the shortest format of the game after the world event. He wants to focus on ODIs and Test cricket. The right-handed batter is leading India for the first time in the ICC T20 World Cup and the ongoing is his last as a skipper in this format of the game.

“I’ve decided to step down as the T20 captain after this T20 World Cup in Dubai in October,” Kohli said in a statement posted on his Twitter page.

“Understanding workload is a very important thing and considering my immense workload over the last 8-9 years playing all three formats and captaining regularly for last five to six years, I feel I need to give myself space to be fully ready to lead the Indian team in Test and ODI cricket,” Kohli said in a statement on his Twitter page.

“I have given my everything to the Team during my time as T20 captain and I will continue to do so for the T20 team as a batsman moving forward,” he further added.
