Virat to play as an all-rounder in his last ICC T20 World Cup as captain – Former player
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has said that Virat Kohli will play as an all-rounder in his last ICC T20 World Cup as a captain. His comments came after the Indian skipper was seen bowling in a warm-up game against Australia.
During the India vs Australia warm-up game, Virat Kohli bowled 2 overs and end up conceding 12 runs. If Hardik Pandya fails to roll his arm over in the global event, Virat might play the role of the sixth bowler.
“Kohli will be seen in the form of an all-rounder. He is our 6th bowling option. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has bowled well. That means he is still in the scheme of things for the game against Pakistan.
“We finally saw Varun Chakravarthy bowling, which is a fantastic thing but he was not given the full overs. He was bowled in the end and he conceded 23 runs in two overs, I understood why you were hiding him,” he added. India defeated Australia by 9 wickets.
