Virat Kohli surpasses Chris Gayle to achieve major world record in ICC T20 World Cup
Virat Kohli was in fine form during the first ICC T20 World Cup game against Pakistan. He scored 57 runs and went past Chris Gayle to achieve another world record. He holds the record of scoring the most half-centuries in the history of the T20 World Cup.
This was Kohli’s 10th half-century at the global T20 event and broke Gayle’s record of 9 50+ scores at the World Cup of the shortest format. While Gayle has scored nine 50s, Mahela Jayawardene has added seven half-centuries to his name.
