Virat Kohli breaks his silence on Rahul Dravid’s appointment as next coach of Team India
India skipper Virat Kohli said he has no idea about Rahul Dravid’s appointment as India’s next head coach. There are reports that Dravid will coach the national team for the next two years. He will take over from Ravi Shastri, who decided to leave the post after the end of his current contract which runs till the T20 World Cup in the UAE.
Earlier, Dravid was not interested in the post but his conversation with BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah changed his mind and the veteran has agreed to coach the team. Kohli, who was speaking to media ahead of the T20 World Cup, was asked about the appointment of the former cricketer and whether he is aware of the developments.
“No idea exactly what’s happening on that front. No detailed discussion with anyone yet,” Kohli said when asked about Dravid’s appointment,” Kohli said.
He is currently the director of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and has also coached the U-19 team, India A and senior team in the past.
