Virat becomes first Asian celebrity to reach 150 million followers mark on Instagram

Virat Kohli is one of the most famous cricketers across the globe. He is followed by millions on social media. On Friday, the skipper of Team India became the first cricketer, first Indian and the first Asian to have 150 million followers on Instagram. In the overall list, Virat is the fourth athlete to reach the 150 million mark on social networking site.

Cristiano Ronaldo – 337 million

Lionel Messi – 260 million

Neymar – 160 million

Virat Kohli – 150 million

According to Hopper HQ, Kohli is the highest-paid celebrity in India when it comes to earning money from Instagram. He charges INR 5 crore per sponsored post on the social networking platform.

In comparison, Cristiano Ronaldo charges INR 11.72 crore for one post. Lionel Messi, who is number two on the list, charges INR 8.54 crore for one sponsored post.  Neymar, who plays for Brazil and PSG, earns INR 6 crore from one post on Instagram.

Virat Kohli’s salary from the Indian Premier League is INR 17 crore. The right-handed batsman also gets 7.5 crore from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
