They are ahead of everyone – Sehwag picks winner of IPL 2021 as season restarts in UAE

The UAE leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will start with Mumbai Indians (MI) taking on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Dubai from 7:30 PM IST today (September 19). The two teams are renowned for their intense rivalry. With 5 wins from 7 matches, CSK are second in the points table, while MI are in the fourth spot.

Before the restart of the league, former India player Virender Sehwag shared his opinion and picked Mumbai Indians as the winners.

Speaking to PTI, Sehwag said that MI and Delhi Capitals are favourites but the defending champions are slightly ahead of everyone.

Mumbai Indians had defeated Delhi Capitals in the finale of the league in IPL 2020.

“Since the second half has been shifted to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, I think Delhi and Mumbai will again be favourites and the five-time champions are slightly ahead,” Sehwag told PTI.

“Chennai’s average score in India was 201 during the first phase but I think when it comes to U.A.E. tracks, they would be lacking a bit in batting firepower. If I have to pick one team that will be Mumbai.”
