Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI instructs KL Rahul & co. to save water and take a quick shower in Harare

Team India is on the tour of Zimbabwe for a three-match ODI series. Harare, the Zimbabwe capital, is facing a water crisis. There has been no water for over three days in some parts of the capital city.

Amid the crisis, the BCCI has instructed the KL Rahul-led team to save water and take a quick shower to avoid water wastage.

India faced a similar situation during its tour to South Africa in 2018. “The water situation in Harare is not good, and the players know about it. They have been asked to save water at any cost and take a quick bath. Also, pool sessions have been cut down to save water,” a BCCI official told InsideSport.

The water production plant at Morton Jaffray Water Treatment Waterworks has run out of essential water treatment chemicals. It supplies water to over 20 lakh people.

“We are using as little water as possible. You can also see that the pitch is also very dry.We can manage,” one of the players told InsideSport from Harare.
