Former India player and the greatest batsman in the history of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, has come out in support of Mohammed Shami, who was recently abused on social media after his ordinary bowling against Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup. The Indian fast bowler conceded 43 runs from 3.5 overs and instead of backing the bowler for the next match, hatemongers slammed him for being a Muslim.
Sachin took to Twitter to rally behind Shami, who is getting support from current and former cricketers. Even the politicians have slammed the fans for targeting the speedster.
“When we support #TeamIndia, we support every person who represents Team [email protected] is a committed, world-class bowler. He had an off day like any other sportsperson can have. I stand behind Shami & Team India,” he wrote.
I stand behind Shami & Team India.

Irfan Pathan, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, VVS Laxman and many others have backed Shami to come good in the remaining matches of the event.
