Shakib al Hasan breaks Shahid Afridi’s world record in ICC T20 World Cup
Shakib-al-Hasan went past Shahid Afridi in terms of wickets in the ICC T20 World Cup. In the previous game against PNG, he took four wickets to equal Afridi’s tally of 39 wickets in the history of the glob event of the shortest format.
In the match against Sri Lanka, he dismissed Pathum Nissanka to take his 40th wicket of the event. The former Bangladesh skipper was not finished as he took another wicket in form of Avishka Fernando. The legendary all-rounder has accumulated 41 wickets in just 29 matches.
Earlier, Bangladesh scored 171 for 4 in 20 overs. Mohammad Naim (62) and Mushfiqur Rahim (57 not-out) played key roles in Bangladesh’s competitive total.
