Saqlian Mushtaq’s unique step is behind Pakistan’s sensational performance in ICC T20 World Cup
The Pakistan team is the flavour of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE. They have defeated India and New Zealand, the two strongest teams in their group, and are looking forward to the remaining matches of the league stage. Pakistan head coach, Saqlain Mushtaq has adopted a unique step to motivate the players during the tournament.
As per Pakistani journalist Saj Sadiq, Saqlain decided to plant the flags of Pakistan onto the ground where Babar Azam & Co. are going through practice sessions. The motive is to keep the morale of the players high and keep remaining them of the importance of representing the nation.
“Saqlain Mushtaq has made sure that #Pakistan flags are planted into the ground during practice sessions. It’s to motivate the players, to give the players a sense of feeling and a reminder that they have the honour of representing their country on a world stage,” Saj Sadiq’s tweet read.
The current coach was mighty pleased after the Men in Green defeated the Kiwis in the second match of the campaign.
“The boys put their heart and soul in the first two matches. The confidence and the self-belief we got from those two matches, we have to take it forward,” Saqlain said after the match.
“Regardless of who we face, whether it’s Afghanistan or any other team, we need to play that brand of cricket and execute our plans with that mindset. If we can’t do that, it would come back to bite us,” he added.
