Sania Mirza cheers as husband Shoaib Malik hits the fastest-ever T20 WC fifty – Watch

Shoaib Malik on Sunday slammed the fastest-ever half-century for Pakistan in the history of the ICC T20 World Cup. His innings was laced with six sixes and a boundary. The right-handed batter scored unbeaten 54 off 18 deliveries to help Pakistan post 189 for 4 in 20 overs against Scotland.

He came out to bat in the 16th over when the Men in Green were 112 for 3. He not only shared a 30-run stand with captain Babar Azam (66) for the fourth wicket and then after the bowlers. As Malik completed his 9th T20I fifty with a massive six, his wife and Indian tennis star Sania Mirza stood up to applaud from the stands.

He also equalled the record of fastest fifty in a T20 World Cup. Earlier, KL Rahul has slammed a fifty in 18 balls against Scotland in the ongoing tournament.

In reply, Scotland managed just 117 for 6 and Pakistan won the final Super 12 game by 72 runs.
