Ruturaj Gaikwad likely to play for India against New Zealand – Report

Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 635 runs in the last edition of the Indian Premier League, is likely to be called back for the home series against New Zealand. After his ordinary performance in Sri Lanka, he was not considered for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE.

However, with many seniors likely to be rested from the upcoming series after the global event, the national selectors are thinking of selecting a young squad. Gaikwad has also scored 212 runs in 3 matches of the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali.

Apart from him, Venkatesh Iyer is also in the fray. The left-handed batter scored 370 runs in 10 matches of the cash-rich league.

The India-New Zealand series will kick off on November 17 with the opening T20I taking place in Jaipur. The next two T20Is will be played on November 19 and 21.
