Play like tigers in T20 World Cup – Pak PM Imran Khan to Babar Azam

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the national team to play like tigers at the ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE. Earlier, New Zealand had abandoned its tour to Pakistan over a security threat. The Black Caps were in Pakistan and decided to call off the tour before the first ODI. After New Zealand, England too decided to cancel the proposed tour of Pakistan.

On Wednesday, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran had a formal meeting with the T20 squad of Pakistan. Encouraging the players ahead of the World Cup, the former Pakistani skipper urged his players to focus on improving their display in international cricket.

According to a report filed by Pakistan Cricket, Imran advised the Babar-led side to be fearless in the show-piece event of the shortest format of the game.

The Pakistan PM wants his players to deliver the best performance in the upcoming World Cup after New Zealand and England opted to cancel their series in Pakistan.

“Pakistan is a safe country. You should focus on improving your performances… God willing, Pakistan will host international cricket soon,” Khan was quoted as saying. He told Babar to lead from the front. “You must lead the team from the front, take everyone along and play like cornered tigers,” Imran said.
