Pitch curator of New Zealand vs Afghanistan match found dead
The curator who prepared the pitch for the ongoing match between New Zealand vs Afghanistan clash in the T20 World Cup 2021 was found dead.
Mohan Singh, who prepared the track for the important match, is no more. Although the reason for his death is still unknown, the police are investigating the matter. The match is taking place at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
As per Cricbuzz, Mohan is an Indian, who shifted to UAE about a decade ago. Daljit Singh, the former chief curator of BCCI, has paid tribute to Mohan.
“He would be in touch with me regularly and I will check with his family,” a shocked Daljit further said. Speaking of the behaviour of the track, it has a few cracks. Hence, spinners would come in handy in these conditions.
“The wicket is going to be slow, it’s the same pitch that was used yesterday for Australia vs West Indies. It has a few cracks, so batting might be challenging. The third match to be played on this track” was the pitch report as per Cricbuzz.
