Once a king, always a king – Irfan Pathan on Virat Kohli

India skipper Virat Kohli is celebrating his 33rd birthday today. He will be leading India against Scotland in the ICC T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan, who has become a cricket commentator after his retirement, took to Twitter to wish the superstar of world cricket on his birthday.

“Once a king always a king, Have a year full of joy and Runs. Happy birthday Virat Kohli,” he wrote.

Virat Kohli led India to the first win of the global event against Afghanistan. The Men in Blue have been found wanting in the tournament with two back to back defeats against Pakistan and New Zealand. However, after the latest win over the Mohammad Nabi-led team, India are expected to win the remaining matches of the World Cup in the UAE.

Even if India manage to defeat Scotland and Namibia, the team is not guaranteed a semi-final berth as a lot will depend on the results of other clashes.

Virat Kohli will step down from the T20I captaincy after the T20 World Cup and he is expected to be replaced by Rohit Sharma.
