New Zealand left Pakistan because of threat from India – Pakistan Minister
The cancellation of the series between Pakistan and New Zealand has left a bad taste. New Zealand called off the tour due to security concerns. Despite staying in the country for five days, the Kiwis didn’t turn up for the first ODI. The U-turn from the visitors was met with severe backlash from former and current Pakistani cricketers.
There were reports that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) suspected the role of the British Government in the New Zealand decision. Now a recent report has claimed the Blackcaps returned to their country because an email had come from India, Pakistan’s information minister said on Wednesday (22 September).
Meanwhile, New Zealand Cricket refused to reveal any details about the threat. “This email was generated from India through VPN showing the location of Singapore,” Chaudhry told reporters in Pakistan’s capital according to Times of India.
India has not reacted to the accusation made by Chaudhry. He also claimed that West Indies were also sent a threat via email. The Caribbean team is due to play in Pakistan in December.
