Mumbai Police arrests a man from Hyderabad for giving rape threats to daughter of Virat Kohli

Mumbai Police Cyber Cell has arrested a man from Hyderabad for giving rape threats to Virat Kohli’s 10-month daughter. After India’s defeat against New Zealand in the ICC T20 World Cup, 23-year-old Ramnagesh Alibathini took to social media to threaten Virat’s family. He is being brought to Mumbai. Notably, a tweet by now-deleted account @Criccrazyygirl issued a rape threat.

Earlier, after the tweet, former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq had slammed the trolls for targeting Virat’s family and writing awful comments directed towards the daughter of the India skipper.

Inzamam was deeply hurt to read the comments after India’s second defeat in the global event.

“I heard that threats are being given to Virat Kohli’s daughter. People need to understand it’s just a sport, we might be playing for different countries but we are a part of the same community. You have every right to criticise Kohli’s batting or his captaincy but nobody has the right to target a cricketer’s family. A few days back, something similar happened with Mohammed Shami. Victory and loss is a part of the game. I was deeply hurt to see people attacking Kohli’s family,” Inzamam said on his YouTube channel.
