Mohammad Rizwan would have been in RCB – Shoaib Akhtar opens up on Pakistan’s wicket-keeper participation in IPL

Former Pakistan player Shoaib Akhtar has spoken on Mohammad Rizwan’s participation in the Indian Premier League. Shoaib played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the tournament. However, the political issues and terrorist attacks on India led to complete ban on Pakistan cricketers after the first season in 2008.

Meanwhile, Rizwan has established himself as one of the best batters in the shortest format of the game. He scored the most runs last year and was named the ICC T20 Cricketer of the Year.

He shares a good relationship with Indian players and was seen enjoying Virat Kohli’s company in the ICC T20 World Cup. Shoaib feels Rizwan would have played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the competition.

“If Mohammad Rizwan played in IPL, he would have been in RCB. He is great team man like Virat Kohli. He is playing with so much heart. I think he opens with Virat,” said Shoaib Akhtar.
