‘Mauka Mauka’ ad campaign targeting Pakistan is not funny anymore – Shoaib Akhtar

The former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has expressed his disappointment with the “Mauka Mauka” ad campaign which shows Pakistan in a poor light. According to him, hurting the sentiments of a nation is not right. He also hoped that India and Pakistan face each other in the finale of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

The “Mauka Mauka” campaign started during the ODI World Cup in 2015 and has continued to add excitement to the contest between India and Pakistan. Pakistan recently broke India’s 12-match winning streak against them in World Cups by registering a 10-wicket win.

“Mauka Mauka” is not funny anymore. It’s alright to make advertisements and get entertained but you are hitting a nation, which is a very proud nation (Pakistan). It’s not funny anymore because it’s hurting the nation, which is very proud,” said Akhtar on his YouTube channel.
