KL Rahul wants higher salary to stay with Punjab Kings – Report

According to Cricbuzz, KL Rahul is ready to stay with Punjab Kings but wants a higher salary in the new season of the league in 2022. Earlier, it was reported that the skipper was ready to leave the franchise to look for a fresh challenge.

However, he has changed his mind but wants more money to continue playing for the Punjab based franchise. According to the rules, any franchise can pay a higher salary to a particular player. Virat Kohli, the former RCB skipper, was getting INR 17 crore which was above the limit set by the IPL. Also, players can negotiate a higher fee with their IPL teams than the defined slab (like 15-16cr or 11-12cr) from IPL 2022.

KL Rahul, who has been the best batter for Punjab, scored more than 600 runs in the last edition of the cash-rich league. He has failed as a skipper but the franchise wants to keep him as he is one of the best batters. The right-hander is currently representing India in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup.
