IPL 2021: MS Dhoni breaks Dinesh Karthik’s record

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) legend MS Dhoni surpassed Dinesh Karthik in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday, September 26, 2021. He now leads the list of wicketkeepers with the most catches in IPL history. Dhoni took his 116th catch in IPL cricket and overtook the KKR wicketkeeper, who has 115 catches to his name.

It was Dinesh Karthik’s dismissal that allowed the former India skipper to overtook the former captain of KKR. Karthik went for his shot but the ball took the outside edge and settled into the hands of MSD.

Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bat first. The Kolkata Knight Riders posted 171/6 on the board. In reply, the CSK won the match by two wickets. Dhoni also leads the list of wicketkeepers with the most dismissal in IPL cricket.
