I will stop playing cricket – Virat Kohli makes a big statement on his career

Virat Kohli has been one of the best skippers in T20Is. If we leave out the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup from the list, he has led India to a lot of wins in this format of the game.

He has left the post after the end of India’s World Cup campaign against Namibia. He had already announced his decision ahead of the global event in the UAE. The right-handed batter wanted to focus on other formats and his batting and leaving the captaincy in one of the formats was the only option left in front of him.

With India failing to reach the semis for the first time since 2012, Virat’s tenure ended on a bad note. Although India won the last game by 9 wickets, for Virat it was not enough as he wanted to win the title in his first and last T20 World Cup as a captain.

Virat Kohli is not going to bring down his intensity level. According to him, the day his intensity goes, he will leave cricket.

“That’s never going to change. If I can’t do that I will not play anymore. Even when I wasn’t captain before I was always keen to see where the game is going. I’m not going to stand around and do nothing,” he said.
