Washington Sundar was ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe after suffering a shoulder injury while playing a game in the Royal One Day Cup in England.
He has been replaced by a young all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed. He was excited to earn his maiden chance to play for the Men in Blue.
He wants to win matches for the country. “Every cricketer wants to play for India as it is the ultimate dream. Being called up for the Zimbabwe series is a dream come true for me. I hope I can win matches with the bat and ball,” he said in a press note released by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).
Shahbaz Ahmed also praised the CAB and his coaches for their contribution to his success.
“The association, especially the office bearers, have always helped me. My coaches and my co-players have contributed to my success.”
