I want to be world’s all-rounder – Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal, the 20-year-old budding Indian cricketer retained by Rajasthan Royals, has expressed his desire to be world’s best all-rounder.

Other than being an aggressive opening batter, Jaiswal also bowls leg-spin, which is yet to be used by the franchise.

The player amassed 258 runs in 10 innings in this IPL. However, the only time he bowled, was the last over against RCB. Jaiswal was struck for a six on his first and only ball.

Looking at his domestic career, he has made a blistering start with the bat. He scored 439 runs in 3 matches for Mumbai, including three hundreds.

As far as his bowling is concerned, he has seven first-class wickets but has yet to pick one in T20 format. He has revealed that he took bowling tips from Yuzvendra Chahal during his stint with Rajasthan Royals.

He said Chahal told him he could be a good all-rounder.

“I talked to him and took bowling tips. He told me that I can be a good all-rounder. I told him that I want to be the world’s best all-rounder. I want to be the best in both departments – bowling and batting,”

Jaiswal signed off by heaping praise on Chahal and said, “He is a mystery man (laughs). He is also a legend in his department. He has several variations. He plays chess very well.”
