I have never discriminated based on religion – Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli came out all guns blazing during his press conference ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup against New Zealand. When he was asked about Shami and the abuse he faced for being a Muslim in India, Virat slammed the hatemongers.

“Attacking someone based on religion is the most pathetic thing one can do. I have never discriminated based on religion. Such people are just frustrated. If people see Shami’s passion for the game, I don’t want to waste my time on it.”

India will take on New Zealand in the second match of the T20 World Cup campaign and all eyes will be on Shami, who went for runs against Pakistan. He has been phenomenal for Team India across formats.

Meanwhile, India need a victory in the upcoming match having lost the first game of the campaign. A defeat at the hands of Kiwis will end India’s hopes of the semi-finals berth.
