India soon, Umran Malik wrote on his Instagram bio in 2018 and could achieve his dream of playing for the country against New Zealand if the reports are to be believed. The selectors could include him in the side for the shortest format series after the ICC T20 World Cup. Umran is with Team India as a net bowler in the global event.
He bowled over 150 kph for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. The young pacer was hailed for his express and even India skipper Virat spoke about him. He urged the authorities to track the progress of the speedster. Speaking to ESPN, Umran expressed his happiness on Virat’s statement.
“I really felt proud on seeing such a big player talking about me,” says Malik. “Nobody knew me a day before and now the world was talking about me.”
“I thought I could bowl around 140-145kph max. I hadn’t checked my pace before playing in IPL,” he says. “Making my debut in the IPL and performing well in the first match was the most special moment of my life,” he added.
