I don’t know how Jarvo got on the pitch again – Ollie Pope
The second day of the fourth Test between England and India once again saw the arrival of pitch invader Daniel Jarvis, famously known as Jarvo 69. He ran onto the field when Jonny Bairstow and Ollie Pope were batting and collided with the former.
Later, he was arrested for allegedly trying to assault Bairstow. This was the third that he invaded the pitch in the ongoing series.
Ollie Pope, who was batting exceptionally well, said he was not bothered about Jarvo making another appearance and breaking his concentration. “Jarvo has made a few appearances this series. I don’t know how he’s got on the pitch again, to be honest; I try to stay in my bubble and don’t let it affect me. Just block it out,” said Pope in a virtual press conference.
According to him, Jarvo’s intervention does not make a difference. “He just stops the play for five minutes every time he comes on. You’ve just got to try and block it out. The art of batting is to switch on and off- you try to switch off in between. Whatever happens before or between balls, I try to get into a good place for the next ball,” he added.
