Ganguly makes big revelation, says Dravid hasn’t been appointed India’s coach

According to multiple reports, Rahul Dravid was appointed Team India’s head coach and would take the charge after the ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE. Ravi Shastri, who is the current head coach, has decided to leave the post after his contract expires in November.

When Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI president was asked about Dravid’s selection, he was surprised to hear the news. According to him, no one has been approached for the job and if the former player wants to join the national team, he will have to apply for the job.

“There’s no confirmation, I only read it in the newspapers. There is due process. It has been advertised. If he wants to apply, then he will,” Ganguly said on the ‘Salaam Cricket’ show of Aaj Tak.

“Right now, he [Rahul Dravid] is the director of NCA. He came to meet us in Dubai to talk about NCA. How to take it forward. We all believe the NCA has a big role in developing the future of Indian cricket. NCA creates the next generation of Indian cricketers. So, he wanted to discuss that,” Ganguly added.
