Game has moved on but Team India is playing 2010 brand of cricket – Michael Vaughan
India are clearly not playing the T20 brand of cricket. Despite the Indian Premier League and the emergence of a lot of youngsters, the Men in Blue have continued to back a conservative approach towards the shortest format of the game.
The weakness and shortcomings were highlighted during the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. Pakistan came on top against the Men in Blue by 10 wickets, while New Zealand defeated the Virat Kohli-led team by 8 wickets in the second match of the global event.
Michael Vaughan highlighted India’s backward approach towards the fast game. According to him, India are still living in 2010 but the world has moved on.
“India are playing 2010 Cricket. The game has moved on,” he wrote.
