Former England cricketer targets Virat for not including Ashwin in playing XI against Kiwis
Virat Kohli is facing the heat from all corners after India’s dismissal performance in the ICC T20 World Cup. Apart from the fans, former cricketers are questioning his team selection process and strategies. Former England cricketer Nick Compton, who has a habit of slamming the Indian skipper, once again lambasted him for not including R Ashwin in a crucial match against New Zealand.
“I just don’t understand how Kohli’s prickly relationship with Ashwin is allowed to keep him out of Indian teams? Do you think Captains should be allowed such autonomy?,” he wrote.

Despite Ashwin’s selection in the T20 World Cup squad, he was not considered for the matches against Pakistan and New Zealand. He was among the wickets in the warm-up games but that didn’t satisfy the team management.
Earlier, Ashwin was kept out of the playing XI in the Test series in England. The veteran spinner has taken more than 44 wickets in Test cricket.
