Faf du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad break CSK record for 50-plus partnerships

Chennai Super Kings opener Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis were in good touch in the IPL finale. The two broke a seven-year-old record for the most number of fifty-plus stands for CSK in the league.

Ruturaj and du Plessis stitched a fifty-plus stand in the IPL 2021 final after CSK were put in to bat by Eoin Morgan. It was their 7th fifty-plus stand in IPL 2021 and they surpassed 6 fifty-plus partnerships in a season set by Michael Hussey and Suresh Raina in 2013.
