Ex-India player makes a stunning remark on Bumrah and Shami’s fitness

Rohit Sharma was unhappy with the frequency of players getting injured. He has urged the need to sit down with the National Cricket Academy to find the reason behind the long list of injured players.

Commenting on Rohit’s remark, former India player Reetinder Sodhi cited Hardik Pandya’s example for taking a fresh dig at the Indian management.

He claimed that Pandya’s career has taken a turn after his sensational performance for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2022.

Pandya guided GT to its maiden IPL title and was then given a chance to lead India in Ireland and New Zealand.

He urged the selectors to stop giving rest to big players. During the same, ex-India selector Saba Karim suggested that the time is right to establish a new pool of fast bowlers.

“Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are injured every now and then. It’s time to look beyond them and create a new pool of pacers. Same is the case with the spinners,” he said.

Karim remarked after India lost its second successive ODI series in Bangladesh. The team is down 0-2 with one more contest to go.

Rohit, pacer Deepak Chahar and youngster Kuldeep Sen are out of the remaining match due to injuries.
