Dravid would be proud of Samson’s performance in IPL 2021 – Former cricketer

Although Rajasthan Royals haven’t done well in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Sanju Samson has been consistent with the bat. The skipper of the Rajasthan based franchise has 433 runs in his first 10 outings.

Impressed with Samson’s performance, former India batsman WV Raman feels Rahul Dravid would be proud of his performance. Samson, who made his IPL debut under Dravid’s captaincy in 2012, shares a good bond with the former India skipper.

Dravid has worked with Samson on a number of occasions. Although Samson has failed in international cricket, he has been a consistent performer in the cash-rich league.

“#RahulDravid will be happy to see @IamSanjuSamson getting runs and making it look easy. The legend has a lot of faith in the young man…” Raman had tweeted after RR’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.”

Samson, who was tipped for big things, has been disappointing in international matches. Despite getting a number of chances, he has been found wanting. The last tour of Sri Lanka saw him struggling for runs and he was not even considered for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

However, his display in the ongoing UAE leg could open national selectors’ doors for him.
