Delhi Capitals should play Amit Mishra and not R Ashwin – Sanjay Manjrekar

Ravichandran Ashwin bowled exceptionally well against Rajasthan Royals. He took one wicket and contributed to DC’s win. The former India cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar stated that is not a big fan of the veteran spinner in shorter formats and wants to see Amit Mishra in his place.

“I was a little surprised that they played Ashwin ahead of Amit Mishra. I don’t think Ashwin bowled too well. I am not a big fan of Ashwin in white-ball cricket. So if they can get Mishra in, he becomes that wrist spinner that is always a game-changer in T20 cricket,” Manjrekar said as quoted by Cricket Addictor.

Delhi Capitals have won two consecutive matches in the UAE leg and are leading the points table.

“People like Amit Mishra, low profile players, tend to get a raw deal. Every time Mishra plays, he has got wickets for Delhi and the other franchises he has played before,” Manjrekar added.
