Bad news for Dhoni led CSK as Rayudu retires hurt after being hit on elbow

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were handed a big blow by Mumbai Indians as Ambati Rayudu left the field in pain during the first match of the second leg of the league.

After the dismissal performance of top order, Rayudu was expected to score big but the veteran was hit on the left elbow which made him walk off with the physio.

Rayudu was struck on the arm by Adam Milne’s delivery before falling. The New Zealand duo of Trent Boult and Adam Milne were unstoppable and shared four wickets between them.

Earlier, MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat against Mumbai Indians, who went in without Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya.

Kieron Pollard, the stand-in skipper, spoke about Rohit’s absence. “He is okay, we will see him sooner rather than later. He is the captain of this ship. I am just standing in.”
