Babar Azam surpasses Virat Kohli in T20 cricket

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has surpassed India captain Virat Kohli in T20 cricket. The right-handed batsman slammed his sixth ton in the shortest format of the game on Thursday, September 30. Playing for Central Punjab in the National T20 Cup, the skipper scored an unbeaten 105 runs off just 63 balls. He hit 11 fours and 3 sixes in his innings.

Virat Kohli has five centuries to his name in the slam-bang version of the game. He has scored all his hundreds in the Indian Premier League where he represents Royal Challengers Bangalore. While Babar has scored one international century in the shortest format, Virat has failed to reach a three-figure mark in T20Is.

He leads the century column in the T20s when it comes to Pakistan. Babar is now level with Rohit Sharma and Shane Watson.

Meanwhile, Virat and Babar are the two finest batters across formats. The two will face each other when India play against Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Pakistan has never beaten its arch-rivals in the history of the World Cup, and a lot will depend on the performance of Babar, who will lead his national team for the first time in an ICC event.
