Babar Azam displaces Dawid Malan to become the No. 1 T20I batsman

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has become the number one batsman in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings. Babar, who has scored three half-centuries in four matches of the ICC World Cup, has dethroned England’s Dawid Malan to grab the top spot.

He has so far scored 198 runs at an average of 66 in the global event. Babar also holds the top spot in the 50-over format.

Babar now has a total of 834 rating points, which is 36 more than the second-placed Malan.

Jos Buttler, who scored the only century of the T2O World Cup, is now placed at the ninth position.

Meanwhile, Pakistan have won four consecutive matches and are through to the semi-finals. Babar has been hailed for his captaincy.
