Apologise to Hindus on national television – Danish Kaneria to Waqar Younis
Cricketers are playing religious cards these days, which is setting up a dangerous trend. Waqar Younis’ controversial remark was condemned by former cricketers and fans. It forced him to issue an apology. The matter should have been done and dusted but former Pakistan cricketer, Danish Kaneria, wants to keep it alive.
He wants Waqar to apologize over the ‘Rizwan offering Namaz in front of Hindus’ statement on national television.
Sharing a video on Facebook on Wednesday, the tainted player spoke about Younis’ statement. He opined that Younis should apologise to all members of the Hindu community after hurting the sentiments of many fans.
Earlier, Waqar had revealed that he made the comments in the heat of the moment.
“In the heat of the moment, I said something which I did not mean which has hurt the sentiments of many. I apologise for this, this was not intended at all, a genuine mistake. Sports unite people regardless of race, colour or religion.”
